Brenda Camilleri is a Malta based casting coordinator and casting director who provides casting services for both local and foreign producers and directors. Brenda`s first steps on set where on Ridley Scott`s Gladiator in 1999. Since then, Brenda has worked her way in the film industry on over 100 projects since 2001.

Whatever the requirements of the project are, Brenda works hand in hand with the Director to propose the most suitable talent available to the islands. Seeking a wide range of talent all year round, from the beautiful to the characterful, the skilled, the weird, the wonderful, Brenda works tirelessly to put faces to the Director`s vision.

Brenda holds a Bachelor degree in Communications & Theatre Studies and a Masters in Film from the University of Malta.

In between working on one project and another she has produced a short documentary about the Maltese dancer, Janet Vella, Breaking Apart and a short narrative titled Boy Wonder which she wrote and directed as part of the MA. In her downtime, if she had any, you would find Brenda exploring a new country, reading books, researching film and related subjects or relaxing with her two chihuahuas Pepsi and Kola.

Brenda is currently working as a Casting Director on the TV series Lockerbie (2024), a BBC and Netflix production. Previous films she cast include Mix Up in the Mediterranean (2020), Karsten og Petra (2022), Un Weekend Partcolare ( 2022), Shelter ( Xelter ) (2023) and Compulsion ( 2023).

Alejando Amenabar (2009), Kon Tiki, Dir. Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg (2012), Genius: Picasso, Dir. Kenneth Biller (2018) and Terrence Malick`s latest feature The Way of the Wind (2020).
